Erik Benau 03F
Erik Benau joined the Board in 2020.
He is presently an assistant professor of psychology at SUNY Old Westbury, New York, an institution that parallels many of Hampshire’s trajectories and shares most of its values. He continues to teach psychology and neuroscience and brings a similar interdisciplinary structure to his classes that he knew and loved at Hampshire.
Erik earned an M.S. in health psychology at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.
He lives in New York City with his partner of thirteen years, himself a proud public high school English teacher, a geriatric chihuahua, and an adolescent pit bull.
