2014 CBD Fall Grant Awards Announced
Hampshire College's Culture, Brain and Development program (CBD) has awarded fall 2014 grants totaling more than $10,000 to seven students to pursue interdisciplinary research projects.
Grants were awarded to:
Miriam King, Division III, Dance-Based Movement as an Intervention for Neurogenerative Disorders.
Zoe Schact-Levine, Division III, Exploring the Validity of Reiki in Stress-Reduction Practice.
Breonna Mabry, Division III, Dose-effect of Cigarette Smoke on Clinical Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis.
Liana Marks, Division III, Special Education through Art Integration and Language.
Alice Morgunova, Division II, Electrophysiological Study with and on Children.
Tim Stiles, Division II, Computational Modeling and Analysis of the Vasculature.
Xiang (Elaine) Wang, Division III, Ethnographic Study on the Life of Teens in Zhenxiong County.
CBD offers two funding opportunities a year; students may apply in fall or spring. In addition to the grants program, CBD sponsors an annual lecture series, a weekly student group, a Living Learning Community, special courses and tutorials, and an annual student retreat.

Established in 2003 by Professors Barbara Yngvesson and Neil Stillings with seed funds from the Foundation for Psychocultural Research, CBD welcomes students from all five Schools at Hampshire and encourages scholars to pursue research through multidisciplinary, hands-on, independently-driven inquiry.
