Alice Petty 89F Joins Hampshire Board as Alumni Trustee
At its meeting last week, the Hampshire College Board of Trustees affirmed a motion presented by the Committee on Trusteeship and Governance to appoint Alice Petty 89F to the Board as Alumni Trustee. Her four-year term begins July 1, 2021.
As she shared in her candidate statement, Alice has been an active alum since she graduated in 1993, volunteering for the Campaign for Hampshire, writing postcards to accepted students, and serving as co-chair of the Bay Area Alumni Circle.
Alice currently works with the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education in the Office of Academic Advising at Stanford University as academic program director and coordinator. In her position, Alice creates and develops academic programs that help students connect with faculty, engage in original research, incorporate service into their undergraduate journey, reflect upon and self-assess their own learning, and make academic decisions that align with their values and priorities.
“Clearly, I bring a lot of Hampshire to my job,” Alice stated. She went on to say, “I am hopeful about Hampshire’s future and I want to see Hampshire continue its leadership in pedagogical innovation in higher education.”
On behalf of the Board and the members of the Alumni Advisory Group (AAG) who vetted nominees, many thanks to all alumni who participated in the process, whether attending the candidate forum or voting. We appreciate your continued engagement with Hampshire and our alumni community.
