The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has awarded Hampshire College the 2015 Community Engagement Classification.
The classification is awarded to colleges and universities that demonstrate significant engagement with and contribute to important community agendas.
Hampshire joins 360 other schools that have received the classification, representing less than one-tenth of the country’s more than 4,000 degree-granting colleges and universities.
The classification is awarded through a yearlong rigorous application process, documenting community engagement within the curriculum and in community partnerships and outreach by programs across the College.
