Choreographer Stephen Petronio 74F Named 2015 Doris Duke Artist
Hampshire College alum and choreographer Stephen Petronio 74F has been named as a 2015 Doris Duke Artist.
Petronio is one of twenty performing artists who will each receive $275,000 in funding as an investment in and celebration of their ongoing contributions to the fields of contemporary dance, theatre, and jazz.
Petronio’s dance company will also be performing on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts’ Fine Arts Center Concert Hall. Petronio’s Locomotor / Non Locomotor is an evening-length, full-company work in two parts featuring an original score by electronic hip-hop pioneer Clams Casino.

Petronio is an artistic director, choreographer, and founder of Stephen Petronio Company. He is widely regarded as one of the leading dance makers of his generation and is the creator of over 35 works for his own company, and commissioned by some of the world's most prestigious modern and ballet companies.
