Hampshire Spring Dance Concert 2023
The Hampshire Dance Program will present the 2023 Spring Dance Concert on April 7 and 8. The event will feature student choreography that highlights dance as an expansive, inclusive, and incisive art form.
Included will be performances developed by students who are incorporating dance into their divisional studies.
Debbie Ampong F21’s Division III project — a multimedia fusion of hip hop, modern, and house styles with film and animation elements exploring the power of dance — will be featured.
Katharine Davis F20 will present an energetic duet, which utilizes ballet vocabulary.
Whitney Byington F22’s piece, crafted with collaborator Lousig Morris F22, dives into the ways that memory and light shape space, time, and experience.
Yarrow Skoblow F20 will direct a trio of movers accompanied by Julius Spencer F22’s live composition for piano.
Samara Ternoir F22 will perform a burlesque-inspired piece with original poetry that is a meditation on confidence, desire, and the intensity of being emotionally haunted by love.
The concert will be held on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8, in the Hampshire College Main Dance Studio. Doors open at 7 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for free or for donations of $3, $8, and $15. Make ticket reservations.
