Jonathan Friedland

Friedland leads a global team responsible for corporate communications, social media, brand public relations, and publicity for original Netflix shows such as Orange is the New Black and House of Cards—and has overseen the international expansion of Netflix's reach into 190 countries. 

Friedland joined Netflix in 2011 after serving as the senior vice president of corporate communications for The Walt Disney Company, and before that, he spent more than 20 years as a foreign correspondent and editor, mainly with The Wall Street Journal, in the U.S., Asia and Latin America. He co-founded the Diarios Rumbo chain of Spanish-language newspapers in Texas and was a member of the Wall Street Journal team that won the Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the 9/11 attacks.  Jonathan began his study of economics and journalism at Hampshire and then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in economics from the London School of Economics.
