Free Tax Return Assistance

Free income tax preparation is available through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst by students in the department of accounting and information systems. Members of the Hampshire College community are welcome.

VITA prepares basic 1040 tax returns. This includes families with or without children. VITA is not able to assist those who are self-employed (Schedule C), those who have rental real estate income (Schedule E), or those with more than $3,400 in interest and/or dividend income.
