Options to verify income
verifying income
If you are selected for the Verification Process, the financial aid office will need to verify the income for the student and, if applicable, the student's parent(s). There are several acceptable methods for the financial aid office to follow to verify one's income.
If student or parent filed an IRS tax return for 2021:
- The income and tax data may be transferred from the IRS into the FAFSA by using the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on the FAFSA; this may be done at the initial completion of the FAFSA or as a FAFSA correction; or
- Request and send us a copy of the tax filer's 2021 IRS Tax Return Transcript; or
- Send us a SIGNED copy of the tax filer's actual 2021 tax return, send us the first two pages and Schedules 1, 2, and 3, if applicable; be sure that it is signed on the "Sign Here" line by using a pen.
