Latoyya Pleasant (she/her)
Latoyya Pleasant (she/her/hers) is the director for community advocacy overseeing the Lébron Wiggins-Pran Cultural Center and S.O.U.R.C.E (Students of Underrepresented Cultures & Ethnicities). She graduated from Westfield State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in ethnic and gender studies and communications. Since then she has worked in the public school system and her home community, Springfield, Ma, to consistently teach and work on outreach programs that focus on uplifting the youth and guiding them in order for them to achieve their goals.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in higher education administration as she plans to work in the field of higher education for many years to come. Latoyya has a great passion for people and advocating for students to connect them to resources while learning to thrive within their community spaces authentically. She hopes to assist in creating awareness of social issues through a cultural lens that impacts our well-being as well as social identities. Her mission in life is to achieve peace and understanding and embrace the moments in which she can authentically be herself. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with friends & family as well as take opportunities to travel. Being amongst authentic positive energy is what brings her joy.
