Flexible Meal Plans

Full Meal Plan

Incoming and returning students in Merrill and Dakin dorms will receive our full meal plan. This includes full access to the Dining Commons, conveniently located next to the dorms. The Dining Commons offers meal service consisting of breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays when classes are in session, with brunch and dinner service on weekends and beverages and snacks during break and study periods.

Students participating in the full meal plan will also receive a balance of $500 in their Dining Dollars account each semester for the purchase of alternate or additional meals, beverages, and snacks at the Kern Kafé (our campus coffee shop, open for breakfast and lunch) and Bridge Cafe (our quick service option located on the second floor of the Robert Crown Center (RCC), open for evening hours most of the week). Dining Dollars may also be used for food purchases at the Mixed Nuts Co-op (a student-run organization), and the HampStore (our school store, located on the ground floor of the Harold F. Johnson Library). Dining Dollars will roll over from the fall to spring semester and will expire at the end of the academic year.

A student on the full meal plan will never lose access to the Dining Commons. Students on the full meal plan have their OneCards loaded with 19 meals a week (3 meals on weekdays; 2 meals on weekends and during break periods) at the Dining Commons; Dining Dollars are not needed for full meal plan students to access the Dining Commons. If a student wishes to still eat at locations other than the Dining Commons after they exhaust their Dining Dollars, they can use Hamp Dollars at all locations. See below for more information on Hamp Dollars.

Students are able to check their balance of Dining Dollars and Hamp Dollars at any dining location as well as at the Hampstore.

Partial Meal Plan

Students living in mods will automatically receive a partial meal plan but may choose to upgrade to a full meal plan. The partial meal plan includes an $888 Dining Dollars balance which can be used for any item sold at the Bridge Café or Kern Kafé, any food item (snacks, groceries, and more) at the HampStore, at the Mixed Nuts co-op, and for meal service at the Dining Commons. There are no meal periods or transaction limits on Dining Dollars—buy what you want, when you want!

Dining Dollars will roll over from the fall to spring semester and will expire at the end of the academic year.

Students are able to check their balance of Dining Dollars and Hamp Dollars at any dining location as well as the HampStore.

Students enrolled in the partial meal plan are not eligible to participate in the Five College Meal Exchange Program, which was established for full meal plan participants.

All Students

All students, including students not living on campus, will also receive 5 guest meals at the Dining Commons per semester, which may be redeemed for meals at the Dining Commons by visiting the front register at the Dining Commons. Stop by the Dining Commons at any meal period to pick up your guest meal tokens for the semester. Please note that as meal swipes are no longer used at the Bridge Café or Kern Kafé, tokens may only be redeemed for meals at the Dining Commons.

All students, including students not living on campus, will also be billed $250 for Hamp Dollars each semester. Your balance remains the same as last year ($250 per semester, rolling over to the spring), but is now called “Hamp Dollars.” Hamp Dollars can be used for any item at the HampStore, as well as wherever dining dollars are accepted (Dining Commons, Kern Kafé, Bridge Café, Mixed Nuts).

Students are able to check their balance of Dining Dollars and Hamp Dollars at any dining location as well as the Hampstore.

Additional Hamp Dollars can be purchased at any time during the semester using NelNet, which can be accessed via TheHub.

Meal Plan Prices 2024-25 (per semester)

  • Full Meal Plan $3259.00
  • Partial Meal Plan $888.00

Both Meal plans are automatically charged by housing assignment (full meal plan for students in Merrill/Dakin, partial meal plan for students in Prescott/Enfield, and no meal plan for students not living on campus). Students without a housing assignment or living in Prescott/Enfield may opt into the full meal plan. To do this, log in to TheHub and select “Meal Plans” under the “Financial Info” section. The plan will be added to your OneCard. Optional Full Meal Plan purchases are non-refundable so please carefully consider available options before making a purchase.

The full meal plan must be added by September 15 for the fall semester and February 15 for the spring semester.  For students who wish to have more flexible funds available, additional Hamp Dollars (flexible funds that can be used anywhere that Dining Dollars are accepted) may be purchased at any time during the semester. If you wish to purchase additional Hamp Dollars, please use this form.

Students on the full meal plan maintain full access to the Dining Commons at each meal period, and for snack service, throughout the semester, even if they fully exhaust their flexible funds (Dining Dollars and Hamp Dollars). For the 2024-25 school year, the door price at the Dining Commons for anyone not on the full meal plan is $12.50; items at all other locations are a la carte and priced as marked.
