Hampshire College Alums Jenner Furst 02F and Julia Willoughby Nason 01F Codirect New Docuseries, “LulaRich,” on Clothing Company and “Cult” LuLaRoe
The docuseries includes interviews with the founders as well as past employees, many of whom lost their savings during their time working for the company.
LuLaRich, a docuseries about the clothing company LuLaRoe directed by Hampshire alums Jenner Furst 02F and Julia Willoughby Nason 01F, will premiere on Amazon Prime on Friday, September 10. The series will then be available via Hulu the day after.
The docuseries includes interviews with the founders as well as past employees, many of whom lost their savings during their time working for the company. While the company is still in operation, earlier this year it agreed to pay $4.75 million to settle pyramid scheme allegations.
Furst began his documentary career in 2008, winning a Peabody Award for Brick City, a docuseries executive produced by Forest Whitaker. In 2011, Furst and Nason cofounded The Cinemart. Nason received an Emmy nomination for Welcome to Leith, which she executive produced. Furst and Nason received a Peabody Award and multiple Emmy nominations for TIME: The Kalief Browder Story, and Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, both done in partnership with Shawn “Jay Z” Carter. Furst and Nason also directed and executive produced Fyre Fraud, which earned them Primetime Emmy nominations, as well as The Pharmacist, a docuseries examining the opioid crisis.
